Anne Bronte (1820-49) 1841-5, visited London and Scarborough. d. Scarborough, buried in St Mary's churchyard, aged 29. Commemorated in Westminster Abbey and Haworth
John Meade Falkner (1858-1932) Used to often visit Beverley and in particular, Beverley Minster.
Romany (Rev. George Bramwell Evens) (1884-1943) Romany spent many happy hours in Goathland. There is a plaque at Sandsend on the wall of Romany Cottage, where Romany wrote A Romany by the Sea
